Privacy Policy

Baby Milestone Journal ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy and the privacy of your family. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Our promise: we never sell your data. Your baby's photos and personal information belong to you, and we treat them with care and respect.

Information you provide: account information (email address and password when you create an account); baby profiles (name, birth date, and gender, which are optional); photos and media you capture or import; journal entries, notes, and milestone records you create; and growth data such as height and weight that you choose to record.

Information collected automatically: device information (device type, operating system version, and app version); anonymous usage analytics to improve features (which can be disabled); and crash reports when errors occur, to help us fix bugs.

Permissions we request: camera access to capture milestone photos; photo library access to import existing photos and save exports; and notifications to send milestone reminders (optional — you control this).

The app is designed to keep family memories private. It stores memories on your device, and can sync family data when account and cloud features are enabled.

When sync is used, it relies on secure sign-in and encrypted cloud services. We use industry-standard authentication, and we do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

We use your information to provide and maintain the Baby Milestone Journal app; send milestone reminders and notifications (with your permission); sync data across your devices (if you enable cloud sync); enable family sharing features; improve app performance and fix bugs; and respond to your support requests.

We do not use your information to sell to third parties, display targeted advertisements, train AI or machine learning models, or share with marketers or data brokers.

Baby Milestone Journal is designed for parents and caregivers to document their children's milestones. We take children's privacy seriously: we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; the app is intended for use by parents/guardians, not children; photos and information about children are controlled entirely by parents; and parents can delete all data about their children at any time.

We aim to honor recognized data-protection rights, including the considerations described under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). You can request a copy of the data we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, request deletion of your data, export your data in a standard format, and opt out of analytics and optional data collection.

If you choose to enable cloud features, we use Supabase for secure database and authentication services (servers in the USA), and Apple and Google for in-app purchases and subscription management. These services are bound by their own privacy policies and data-processing agreements with us.

Local data is stored on your device until you delete it. Cloud data is retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, cloud data is permanently deleted within 30 days, and encrypted backups are retained for up to 90 days before being deleted automatically.

You can delete your data at any time from within the app (Settings → Data Management → Delete Account).

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy in the app, sending an email notification for material changes, and updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
