Accessibility Statement
Last updated: March 30, 2026
Our commitment
Baby Milestone Journal is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level for our website, and to follow platform accessibility best practices for our iOS and Android apps.
Accessibility features
Our app and website include the following accessibility features:
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy
- Descriptive alt text on images
- Sufficient color contrast ratios meeting WCAG AA standards
- Keyboard-navigable interface with visible focus indicators
- ARIA labels on interactive elements
- Responsive design that works across screen sizes and zoom levels
- Support for screen readers (VoiceOver on iOS, TalkBack on Android)
- Touch targets sized for comfortable interaction (44pt minimum)
- No auto-playing media or flashing content
Mobile app accessibility
Our React Native app follows platform-specific accessibility guidelines:
- Native accessibility APIs for iOS and Android
- Dynamic text sizing support
- Accessible labels on all interactive controls
- Safe area support for devices with notches and home indicators
Known limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We are actively working to identify and resolve any remaining gaps. Third-party content and services integrated into the app may have their own accessibility limitations.
Monitoring & remediation
babymilestonejournal.com is built and actively monitored by Site Clinic, the platform behind this site. Automated accessibility audits run against every deploy and against the live site on an ongoing schedule. Critical, serious, and moderate violations block builds from shipping and trigger remediation work.
Audits run on the same axe-core engine used by ADA Audit Report, the Site Clinic product that reviews and supports remediation toward WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 Level AA for any website.
Per WCAG and the Americans with Disabilities Act, accessibility is an ongoing direction rather than a fixed state. Findings from automated audits and manual review are addressed on a continuous basis.
